Premme plus size micropleated jumpsuit

So here’s the thing about pleats–they are perhaps the only thing that gets better when smaller. There is just something so special about this micro pleats trend. So when Premme busted out their second collection with a couple of micro pleated pieces, I jumped all up on them. And when I saw one of those pieces was a second version of my favorite striped jumpsuit…

…I pretty much lost my mind.

Instead of going ultra sexy with this piece, I decided to go with a more daytime vibe.

This tee is officially my under-coverage go-to when taking dresses and jumpsuits into the afternoon.

The texture is so fashion-forward, I can barely stand it. Now let’s move onto to something with a bit more color and sparkle, also from Premme.

Premme plus size micropleated skirt

This glittery emerald skirt will take me right into the holidays and it is a gorgeous match with Premme’s off-shoulder sweater.

Bitch, it even has pockets.

I love how micro pleats trend is in no way combined to skirts. There are a plethora of ways to try this out for yourself! Here are some of my favorite pieces you can score online right meow:

I’m a mom. Therefor, you have five seconds to guess where my happy place is. It’s a magical land where I can silence my preschooler with popcorn. Where I can grab a birthday present and a side dish last minute because I don’t have my shit together as a person. Where I can score an entire outfit plus lipstick plus avocados and make my husband regret sending me out for avocados. Target is my zen–my loud, crowded zen. But one thing I never usually get too excited about are Target collections. Cuz fat.

Now, I am kind of an in-betweenie at Target. I can shop the larger straight sizes sometimes. With collections however, unless they have designated plus sizes, I’m often out of luck. Usually it’s because these designers have a personal vendetta against stretch. Sometimes they just have a low-key vendetta against fats. SHRUG.

But not Becks!

Victoria Beckham plus size orange skirt

The Victoria Beckham plus size collection, which is almost identical to her straight size selection, offers up to 3x and 26. Even this is limited in terms of size inclusivity, I know. But I was pleasantly surprised to find out that some of these pieces ran 1-2 sized bigger. I had to buy this skirt in a 1x when I am easily a 2.

I really loved the loud, citrus-y mod vibe of some of these pieces but the pastels were also calling to me. Mint and blush ughhhh. So good. I’ve also been on a pink kick so I pulled the trigger real quick on these shorts.

Yet, what is the ultimate test of a collection? It boils down to one question–does it have a goddamn romper?

IT DO.

Pleased. I haven’t been this stoked since the Who What Wear line and I hope she continues with it. Plus, there is a legit void re-interpreted retro in plus sizes. Other retailers commit too heavily to the aesthetic, which can look costume-y at times. Nothing cheesy about these pieces. I’m sold. 10/10 will buy again.

It’s a rare treat that I can support the pricier indie plus size brands, but I take every chance I get. My first purchase with Zelie For She has left me one happy fall fatty.

Zelie for She plus size maxi dress

Finally, my Angelina Jolie leg moment has arrived.

Plus size faux fur vest

Seriously, I’m so stoked I don’t have to wait for spring to finally show off the thigh piece I got done in October. Let’s zoom in for a closer look, shall we?

Zelie for She plus size maxi dress

This print is so luscious, I want to melt it into a cup and drink it like Swiss Miss. I’m a sucker for moody florals. Also, I’m low-key on a 70s kick so a peasant cut like this paired with a ridiculously Sonny and Cher vest really hit the spot.

And yes, those are white pointed loafers. I was torn between them and white platform sandals.

OK guys, It’s been a while and I’m LONG overdue. It’s cape time, baby.

Plus size mustard cape jacket

And yes, I know I’m supposed to rock this magnificent bastard FROM TARGET with long sleeves but they just don’t make many long sleeve crop tops (the only kind of tops I wear now) and I’m at a deficit of long sleeve dresses K?

Plus, I really needed to rock my new LuLaRoe dress and thought this color combo was liiiife.

Don’t you love when your lipstick perf matches your damn tights? I do. I also love how it makes the cape jacket pop just that much more. Oh Fall. I already miss you.

Now that my friends and I are getting older and more parental, we really don’t have many excuses to get together while dressed to the nines. And even if we did, we are so tired that we still secretly want to keep it comfy but it turns into a Mexican standoff where no one wants to say, “hey, let’s just have a pajama party” first. This is precisely what inspired me to work with this silver jumpsuit.

Silver pleated jumpsuit

Shiny, slinky, devoid of all abilities to accidentally flash panties, this piece is perfectly styled for the rowdiest of your New Year’s Eve shenanigans or the most couch-centric. It’s pretty comfortable so I rolled with the comfy chic and paired it with a bomber jacket and flat boots.

Floral bomber jacket

I really didn’t want this look to get too laid back and the easiest way to do that is to bring in the big guns for your accessories. And my favorite “big gun” as of late is crystal.

Baublebar occult necklace

I scored the necklace first and then just happened to find this amazing bun clip to create this ridiculous match made in shopaholic heaven. Again, this was one of those moments:

Kermit dark side meme

Guess which side won.

So now that we have the comfier look out of the way, I can let my fabulous flag fly with THISSSSS

Sequin pencil skirt

I *clap* WAS *clap*FEELING *clap* MY *clap* SELF *clap* in this look. And that was an accomplishment considering this was a last-minute scramble of a look because Boohoo can’t get their shit together and send me my package on time.

Pink ankle boots

Also, this may officially be the most belly I have ever shown in public. But who wants to talk about a piece of skin when you’re captivated by so much sparkle. Which people were. And the boots were a close second. They continue to be my favorite ASOS purchase ever.

Sequin pencil skirt

The pink in this skirt is what sealed the deal for me. Colored sequin is hard to come by and I want all of it. I want to slowly turn my wardrobe into nothing but Selena stage clothes.

Baublebar occult necklace

And one more look at this life-giving necklace. I want to be buried in it. And hopefully be brought back to life by it. Witch vibes.

For the most part, there aren’t many things on my “no” list when it comes to my personal style. By now you hopefully know none of that has to do with flattering since I give no fucks. These are just general trends and styles that I tend to avoid, whether I feel they are played out or just plain fugly. Velvet pants, for one, is something I never thought I would buy.

Gray velvet pants

Even though like all college girls, I went through a wearing-pajama-pants-outside phase, I consider that a low point in my fashion life and was not keen on how much velvet pants look like they should have a giant Juicy written on the ass. But these Who What Wear lounge pants called to me, hard. It was probably the color. That gray is gorge.

Aliens loot crate shirt

A crop top (points if you get the ref) and lounge pants are literally things I wear to bed so slapping on a necklace and boots with them felt so wrong, it was right. Mostly, I just like the color palette that happened. Mostly. 😉

Next on my Never Never list was the ever hippy dippy slouchy maxi dress. On top of them being body-hiding garbage bags, this particular one is from H&M, with whom I have pretty serious beef since their size inclusivity is just sad. I can sporadically find things in a 16 but not nearly enough to give them my attention. But here’s the thing: This dress? It’s a medium.

H&M Kenzo maxi dress

Medium! Exactly how drapey is the motherfucker supposed to be, Kenzo? I could have easily fit into the small. This is already a bed sheet on me.

H&M Kenzo maxi dress

I kind of felt like I was sticking it to H&M for buying this. 1.) It was deeply discounted and there were a ton of them so clearly it was not well-received. 2.)Wearing a design not as intended is sometimes a big slap in the face to a brand, so I was happy with that.

Leopard print maxi dress

One upside to so much fabric, it moves like a boss. I can’t wait to wear this fucker on windy day.

I saved my biggest word-eating moment for last. I’ve even written about how much I don’t get the overalls comeback. For this one, I had actual vitriol. But then…70s wide legs came back, too. And then they joined forces. Ugh, so good.

Denim wide leg overalls

Also, this is yet another outfit inspired by my kween, Aarti of Curves Become Her. Her layering of denim to create a jumpsuit-like look was On. Point.

Denim wide leg overalls

I asked for the pants to be altered for wearing flats but somehow, they ended up long. It was actually lucky because I don’t think any shoe looks as good with these than my gold ankle boots.

Plus size denim overalls

It was also a good opportunity to try some lapel accenting, which I actually always loved but rarely wear collars. It’s good to have friends who are Etsy crafters and who share my affinity for burgers and fries!

In case you haven’t yet figured it out, I’m one of those people whose number one reason for loving Halloween is that it makes crazy makeup, accessories and clothes totally acceptable. That and flash tattoo events. $31 to get a little ghost with butt cheeks on my arm? Aww yiss.

Don't be a basic witch hallween shirts

It also happens every single year, without fail, that I find super cute novelty Halloween shirts, buy them, fully intend to wear them in public, then quickly downgrade them to my PJ drawer. Why? Dipshits who like to say, “But it’s not even Halloween yet.” UGH EAT IT.

Don't be a basic witch hallween shirts

But THIS SHIRT, uh-uh. I would not be stopped from wearing this in the light of day. But I needed a way to make it classy. And you can’t spell classy without polka dot palazzo pants. A dark lip and bright eye is my goth makeup MO and it kicked the door wide open for my poison ivy-esque green velvet shoes.

Polka dot palazzo pants and green velvet shoes

I think I did my due diligence to not be basic with this one even though this was a no-fuss, comfy outfit. I could live in those flowy pants. I want a flowy pants kind of life. Too bad I’m the type of person to get wound up when people make stupid comments about it not being Halloween yet. LIKE FUCK I KNOW WHAT A CALENDAR IS DIE.
